Using the OKX withdrawal address book and understanding security holds
Two things catch people out when they withdraw from OKX. The first is the address itself: a typo, a wrong network or a swapped clipboard. The second is timing: after you change a password, reset two-factor authentication or add a new device, withdrawals can be paused for a while. That pause is deliberate. It gives a real owner time to notice if someone else made the change. Understanding both makes withdrawals calmer and safer.
Save addresses in the address book first
In the OKX app, go to Assets, tap Withdraw, choose the coin, and look for the address book option, or open it from the security settings in your profile. Add the address, label it clearly, select the network, and confirm with your authenticator and email codes. You can mark addresses as verified so that later withdrawals to them need fewer steps. Labels like hardware wallet main or family account are far easier to check than raw strings.
Why a withdrawal might be on hold
If you recently changed your login password, reset or switched your authenticator, or changed the email or phone on the account, OKX may temporarily restrict withdrawals. The app tells you when this applies. Do not try to rush it by contacting someone who offers to unlock it; real support will not ask for your password or codes. Plan security changes for a day when you do not need to move funds, and you will rarely notice the hold at all.
Test with a small amount on new addresses
The first time you send to a new address, withdraw a small amount. Then open the withdrawal record in Assets, copy the transaction ID and check it in the block explorer for that network. Confirm the destination address matches every character you expect and that the receiving wallet shows the funds. Only then send the rest. The network fee shown on the withdrawal screen is the live value at that moment, so read it there each time.
Signs to stop and check
Stop if the network list on OKX does not include the one your receiving wallet names, if the pasted address starts or ends differently from the one you copied, or if someone is pressuring you to move funds quickly. In each case it is cheaper to pause than to guess. You can verify any contact claiming to be from the company with the OKX Verify tool in the app.
